Abstract
High nutritional problems in pregnant women such as Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) and nutritional anemia is the cause of problems such as low birth weight birth weight. Babies with abnormal weight contributes to the high risk of the baby developing the disease. Banyumas District Health Office in 2012 concluded there were 123 cases of KEK and 1528 cases of LBW infants, in the Health Center South Purwokerto obtained 22 cases of low birth weight. If this is not handled properly it will increase the mortality rate in newborns.
This study aims to determine the relationship between maternal weight gain with birth weight infants aged 0-28 days in Bay Village Working Area South Purwokerto Banyumas Health Center in 2013.
This study uses an analytical method with cross sectional correlation. 173 Number of sample respondents by purposive sampling technique. Statistical test used is the Spearman rank test using secondary data.
This research shows maternal weight gain during pregnancy is normal of 57.2% and 67.6% for birth weight infants aged 0-28 days diketegorikan normal. Based on the results of statistical tests known r value of 0.345 with p-value = 0.0001 (< 0.05). That is to say, there is a relationship between maternal weight gain during pregnancy to birth weight infants aged 0-28
days postpartum mothers in the village of Bay Area Occupational Health Center South Purwokerto, Banyumas regency in 2013.
The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between maternal weight gain during pregnancy to birth weight infants aged 0-28 days postpartum mothers in the village on the Gulf of Puskesmas South Purwokerto, Banyumas regency in 2013.
